    Land Bank, established in 1946, is marking its 80th anniversary this year. The “Youth Badminton Summer Camp” - themed “Play Badminton – Learn About Integrity” - is one of a series of events celebrating the Bank’s 80th birthday. Through a combination of relaxed, interactive, and educational activities, the camp promoted both the sport and the values of integrity, providing young participants with a healthy, enriching, and enjoyable summer experience. Additionally, in response to the National Archives Administration under the National Development Council’s focus on cultural and historical archives, a special booth was set up at the venue to showcase the Bank’s badminton achievements.

    In an effort to introduce badminton to students around the country, the Bank hosts the “Youth Badminton Summer Camp” annually, which takes place in different areas of the island. This year, the summer camp was held in the Greater Taipei area from July 13 to 17 at the Bank's badminton court. The summer camp is offered completely free of charge, and participants who deliver excellent results at the end of the camp will also receive commemorative prizes.

    The Bank's annual badminton summer camp has been widely praised. Not only is the summer camp offered free of charge, but one of its greatest attractions is its outstanding coaching team. This year’s “Youth Badminton Summer Camp” included exhibition games in both singles and doubles, featuring current members of the Bank’s badminton team. Participants also received hands-on instruction from the coaches, who provided guidance on badminton fundamentals, stroke techniques, and physical fitness training, leaving students with an unforgettable learning experience.

    In her opening remarks at the summer camp, Land Bank's Deputy General Manager Tzu-Yin, Tsai encouraged these young participants to take the opportunity to learn to play badminton and fall in love with the sport. She expressed her hope to see these young participants on the Bank's badminton team one day. The summer camp aims to improve the participants’ physical fitness, open up promising career paths, and even bring honor to the nation on the international stage in the future.

    Land Bank’s badminton team has delivered outstanding performances in domestic and international competitions in recent years. In particular, Chi-Lin, Wang set an unprecedented record, becoming the first player to win back-to-back gold medals in the men’s doubles at the 2020 Tokyo and 2024 Paris Olympics. In addition, Chun-Yi, Lin - known for his powerful left-handed attacking style - won his first gold medal of the year in January at the “2026 India Open.” This landmark victory marked his first title at the Super 750 level. His remarkable run continued in March as he won the men's singles title at the “2026 All England Open (Super 1000),” becoming the first Taiwanese player to claim this historic championship in the tournament’s 116-year history. The “twin brothers” Fang-Jen, Lee and Fang-Chih, Lee also won men's doubles gold medals at the “Swiss Super 300 Open” in March. Land Bank player Su Li-Yang won the men's singles gold, while Kuang-Heng, Liu and Yin-Hui, Hsu won the mixed doubles gold at the “U.S. Open (Super 300)” in June. By taking a solid and steady training approach and adhering to strict discipline, we are committed to nurturing more outstanding athletes in Taiwan.

     Land Bank has been making efforts to promote badminton in Taiwan for half a century. Each year, we allocate a budget of millions of New Taiwan dollars as an investment in our badminton team, upgrading training facilities and equipment, as well as hiring professional coaches and trainers to help players perform at their best and excel in international competitions. Since January this year, Land Bank’s badminton team has won 31 gold, 22 silver, and 33 bronze medals in domestic and international tournaments, bringing the team’s total medal count to 86.

    In conjunction with government policy, Land Bank established Taiwan’s first corporate men’s badminton team in 1976. Over the past five decades, we have not only trained players but also remained committed to serving as a strong support system, providing a comprehensive career development framework. This enables players to focus on training and competitions, further contributing to the development of Taiwan’s sports industry. Through decades of consistent dedication, Land Bank has been recognized with the “Gold Award” in the sponsorship category, the “Long-Term Sponsorship Award,” and the “Gold Award” in the promotion category of the “Sports Activist Award” from the Ministry of Sports for 17 consecutive years. Moreover, for the first time, the Bank received the “iTaiwan iSports Award” from the Ministry of Sports, demonstrating our commitment to supporting Taiwan’s badminton development through concrete actions and fulfilling our corporate social responsibility.
